She brings strong expertise in integrating gender into MSD programmes and organisations, including partnership building, development of guidelines and tools, capacity building of staff, development of gender-sensitive M&E frameworks, and design and implementation of interventions supporting women as customers, workers and entrepreneurs. She has conducted research on gender norms to support the design and implementation of trade and MSD programmes in diverse sectors, including agriculture, services, ready-made garments, ICT, logistics and cross-border trade. She has published a number of articles on the topics of gender, trade, services and regulatory reform and co-founded an award-winning mobile platform that provides market access to women-owned SMEs engaged in trade in East Arica. Julia holds and MSc in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and a BSc in Politics and Economic from the University of Bath.
